Suntree 2-to-1 MC4 Y Branch Connector
The Suntree 2-to-1 Y branch connector joins two solar panels or strings in parallel so they run into a single input on your charge controller or inverter. Wiring in parallel keeps the voltage the same and adds the currents together. That means fewer cable runs back to your gear and a tidier install.
The housing is UV-stable, flame-retardant PPO and the contacts are tinned copper, so it’s made for years out in the weather. It comes as a pair: one 2-male-to-1-female and one 2-female-to-1-male, so you can do both the positive and negative sides.

Where to use it
Use it on off-grid systems, hybrid inverter PV inputs, rooftop and ground-mount arrays, and in caravans, motorhomes and tiny homes where you want two panels on one controller input.
How to install it
- Make sure the panels are covered or isolated before you start. A panel in daylight is always live.
- Plug the two positive panel leads into the positive branch connector, then the two negative leads into the negative branch connector. Don’t mix them up.
- Push each connector in until it clicks and locks.
- Run the single output from each branch to your charge controller, inverter or combiner box.
- Keep the combined current under 30A and inside what your controller or inverter input can take.
- Support the cables near the connectors so they aren’t under strain or bent tightly.
- Use an MC4 spanner to unlock and disconnect. Never pull them apart under load.
Note on fusing: With only two strings in parallel, you usually don’t need string fuses. The fault current from one string generally can’t exceed the other panel’s reverse current rating. Check your panel datasheet to be sure, and if you’re adding a third string later, use the 3-way connector with string fusing instead.
