Suntree MC4 Solar Connector Pair
The Suntree MC4 connector gives you a secure, waterproof join anywhere in your PV wiring: panel to panel, extension leads, or runs back to your charge controller, inverter or combiner box. It’s built to handle full sun, rain and temperature swings year after year.
Each pack has a male and female pair, and they suit 2.5mm² to 6mm² solar cable. Once you’ve crimped them on and they’ve clicked together, they stay put until you unlock them with an MC4 spanner.

Where to use it

How to install it
- Strip the cable insulation to the length shown in Suntree’s instructions, usually around 7mm. Don’t nick the strands.
- Fit the metal contact over the bare wire and crimp it with a proper MC4 crimping tool. Pliers won’t give you a reliable joint.
- Give the wire a firm tug to check the crimp is solid.
- Slide the back nut and seal onto the cable, then push the crimped contact into the housing until it clicks.
- Tighten the back nut with an MC4 spanner to seal it.
- Snap the male and female together until they lock, then give them a pull to make sure they’re secure.
- To disconnect, isolate the circuit first and use the MC4 spanner to release the clips. Never pull them apart under load.
